I've been a bad, bad little live journal owner. It's been about two months, and my live journal thinks it self all abandoned. I have been keeping up with my friends list, so yes my eye has been on you, but with school, VCE, the AFA, my SAC it's just been cra-zeh.

So catching up.

1. I have the worst cold at this moment. At first it was the regular snot fest, but now it's burrowed down into my chest so I can barely breath. When I cough, I cough up disgusting flem and I just feel awful. I had to go to school yesterday to do my SAC (which for Americans is your SAT, just to clarify) for psychology, and of course I wasn't a hundred percent what with the head spins and all, so I'm pretty sure I messed up. GRR! I studied for that test! All week! I hate nature. Hate it!

2. My new obsession... The 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice. Checks out supercool!layout miserere_x</div></div></div></div>
I have actually read the book, for all you mean nitpicking adaption-ists out there, and I loved it. However Jane Austen just can't compete with sexy Matthew Macfadyen in tight pants. *wipes away drool from mouth. 'You have bewitched me'.

3. Um. Moonlight is awesome. I meant to make this post when I saw the pilot like last year, but I'm doing it now. Ok, so I was totally sucked in by Jason Dohring being a vampire. That alone would have made it gold because... well Jason Dohring as a vampire!! :) :). But I am so obsessed now it borders on freak-tastic. The premise isn't exactly what I'd call original, I mean a vampire with a 'soul', living in LA, fighting bad guys and brooding over an unattainable blond. Gee-oh, I wonder where I've heard that before. I would venture, however, that Moonlight is actually better then Angel and honestly the plot lines are not really that similar. Doesn't Alex O'Loughlin just sizzle though (AND he's Australian, isn't this just the best place to live).
I'm such and ohmigod!fangirl Beth/Mike fan. Will do fanart eventually. Thank god the writers strike is over and we can move on with our life *gestures wildly at Moonlight and Gossip Girl*. Shame I have to wait for April really, hope my head doesn't explode.

4. So my academic life is going fine, but my romantic not so much. I mean I assume I'm not hideous because why would anyone ever talk to me (yes, yes my friends are shallow. *smiles blithely*) , of course I must have a really great personality if I'm wrong (I don't). Anyway that's not the point. My problem is that I'm in an enclosed community of people who are either dating one of my friends, are hideously ugly, know me too well, or hate me. Every time somebody new turns up, the rest of the unattached (*coughcough*Charlotte*cough*) jump onto their prey like a starved animal feasting on fresh meat.
I am just not that desperate.
I think maybe I've become a little spoilt too. Maybe I'm expecting a Logan, or an Angel, or a Mike, or a Logan, or a Noel to turn up and high school boys are just boring. Damn those compelling storylines!! TV you have ruined me!! *shakes fist*. Or maybe it's the twisted, sick personal lives of my familiars that has made me the romantic Switzerland. *Throws fruit at friends*.

Auld Lang Syne

Summer is here, and I should hope it is here to stay for at least a few months. It wasn't that I didn't like the unexpected downpoar of rain, I live in a drought stricken country after all. But that's happened, I'm over it, time for some beaches, bikini's and sundresses thankyouverymuch! The sun is especially welcomed since Charlotte's grandpa (who is decidedly middle classed) has ditched the country and his house, leaving Charlotte and in extension the fabulous four, and in specifics me, freedom to pretty much do what ever we want. This house is pretty much the coolest holiday miracle which ever could have occurred, it has a pool, cable, excess of food and most importantly it gives us space to generally deal in all that is debaucherous and fun. So this years New Year's Eve will actually be great, as opposed to my previous family New Year's Eve parties which mainly consist of me watching Moulin Rouge for the forty sixth time and bashing my head against a stone wall. New Years is not for family, it's for the people you like, Christmas is sacrificed on the relations altar of pain but there comes a time when you just have to start spending New Years in a way that would either make my family very proud or very, very mad. Actually I didn't spend all of Christmas with my family either, after recieving some (actuallysuprisingly) pretty cool gifts, I went over to Adj's and watched THEMIGHTYBOOSH!! which was obviously like a googleplex more times more productive then anything I would have done in the habitual arena.

That is because THEMIGHTYBOOSH!! is pretty much the coolest thing I have ever seen, ever.

I fractured a bone, I brought a DVD off ebay, I smoked a cigarette, I kissed a boy, I kissed a gay boy *evil smirk*.

02. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
My New Years Resolution was to try harder in school (read: do homework instead of watching tv/reading fanfiction/ doing fanart), and I did. So I guess I kinda rock.

03. Did someone close to you give birth?
No... Thank god, children freak me out juuust a little.

04. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully no.

05. What countries did you visit?
Australia :(

06. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Veronica Mars season 2, the seaon of One Tree Hill I ordered off Ebay which STILL.HASN'T.ARRIVE, a laptop, a boyfriend.

07. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
My sweet sixteenth was kinda awesome. It was election day so it was kinda a double party. My parents where vacant, John Howard lost and Charlotte kissed John.

08. What was your biggest achievement(s) of the year?
I recieved Dux for my year! :)

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I kiiinda fractured my ankle by falling down some stairs.

My DVD collection. What was non-existent is 2006 is now really beginning to pick up steam.

Adrienne for keeping a boyfriend for five months (happy!clap), Eve for not doing anything wildly, embarrassingly stupid all year and for getting her guy.

Charlotte is constantly appalling me, but would I want her any other way? Britney Spears depressed me, it's been an awful year for her.

Food, dvds, clothes.

The seventh book!!!!

I love, love, love Christmas Eve!! I actually think I might enjoy it more then the actual day, it's so full of delicious anticipation and good will and I luuurrvvee it. Anywho, since I'm bored and I really have nothing to do I thought I'd make up for that by doing a movie meme!

Useless procrastinating for all!

1. Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times.

I've seen Men In Black 2 about a gillion times. It was the only DVD my brother owned and like the small and irritating do, he played it over and over and over again.

2. Name a movie that you've seen multiple times in the theater.

I tend not to see that many movies in the cinema period, so it's a very rare accurance that I see one movie twice. I saw The Fellow Ship of The Ring four times in the cinema

3. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a movie.

Pretty much any actor or actress that is a major part of any other tv show or movie I love. I watched These Girls because David Boreanaz was in it. Pretty much the worst movie ever.

4. Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a movie.

I can't really think of one, I'm usually pretty open minded when it comes to the actors in a movie.

5. Name a movie that you can and do quote from.

Um, ever movie I have ever seen ever? Oh, Oh Reservoir Dogs!! I just love putting on the voice - 'You shoot me in a dream, you better wake up and apologize.'.

Christmas day looms, my chest constricts.

It's not that i don't like the idea of Christmas, because I do. I'm totally into the holiday cheer, and the tree and the lights (my family unfortunately doesn't do lights and our tree sucks but that's another story that one day will no doubt be regurgitated for Oprah), and the short bread, and the presents. I love presents. Saying that, it took me eleven years to realize that my family should never be put in the one place ever. ever. My entire family has something to say, I come from a line of academics musicians, designers, liberals, chain smokers, alcoholics, 70's throwbacks. I'm going to go crazy, I'm doomed. The only way I made it through last Christmas was with copious amounts of alcohol, and even that ended with some family truths I'd rather not have know. Holidays suck. Suck, suck, suck. If miracles do exist then Santa will let me dodge the New Years bullet... Come on now, I've been a good girl *winning smile*.

My mum just dropped the D word a few days ago. We've been kinda avoiding the issue for a few years now, my mum conveniently postponing and scurting around that discussion. Then she just drops it like an A bomb a few days ago. We're getting a new dog!!! *happy dance*. I want a pitbull we can call Veronica. Our current dog has been sulking though, Maggie is very sensitive almost to the point of being neurotic. She's quite Paul Anka-ish, except by not looking like an over sized mop she doesn't really pull it off. Still, she was in the room when we raised the D word and the P word and me and my mum where looking at an exact replica of what she would have looked like as a puppy (we adopted her when she was about eighteen months) and I think she knows she's going to have competition because she just drooped, and ever since then she's just been really strangely affectionate. She even let me walk her to the video store. Knowing that I always spend half an hour deciding, leaving her in the blistering heat/ freezing cold. I've borrowed the entire first season of One Tree Hill and cannibalized it in under three days, I ordered season two off ebay and I hope it arrives by Tuesday but my experience with internet ordering have never really been that good, I alway seem to get everything about a week after it's meant to come. But, oh my god, I love it. I remember not liking it when I first watched it years ago, when it was partnered with The OC, but now I just love it. I love Nathan and his abs (beeautiful, beautiful abs) and Peyton and her Peytonness. I officially have a new show to obsess over. Good for me.

Speaking of the OC, Gossip Girl is awesome. No I correct myself, Blair is awesome. In her Blairness. The first few episodes are just being aired here, but I've been watching them off fanpop and sidereel.com so I'm up to date. Plus I don't have cable, more my shame. I actually kinda like how much they've gone off track from the books because lets be honest. The books sucked. I loved them, but they where crappy. I especially love the whole Blair/Chuck thing. The actor who plays Nate could realistically be replaced by a very pretty cardboard cut out, and Serena has been disappointing beige. But I love Lilly! She's the best adult cast addition of any show I've seen for a really long time. She's so good I've long forgiven her creepy resemblance to Kirsten.

YES!! SUCCESS!! The term is over!! Almost two entire months of squat! My orientation ended a couple of hours ago and I am sooo elated. Plus all my subjects are really great next year, with a possible exception of Math of course, and none of my teachers are crummy. I have alot of holiday reading, but score! One of my english texts is Minority Report by Philip K Dick, a book I've been wanting to read since I read and saw A Scanner Darkly. Double score! One of my Lit texts is Fight Club which I was waiting to read anyway. Almost half of my work load is reading and writing! No more science!

Anyway, shout out to colour_me_troll , who is slumming it some where in the crazy land *cough*, did I say that? I meant New Zealand. Really i did. :). HOPE YOUR READING THIS!!

ANYWAY! I completely elated mainly because my school finishes with the whole award ceremony/ assembly blahblah and I got dux! I got dux! I'm so so pleased. I knew I was doing well this year, but it was still COMPLETELY unexpected. I also got achievement awards in every single one of my subjects save for English because my English teacher didn't give anybody any *mutter*. My dad sent me a very dorky text message, but my rents are happy too. I went all giggly when they called my name, and I'm pretty sure I looked all shell shocked.

What. a. geek. :D

Another fun thing that happened this weekend was that I finally brought a new phone. Yay for me, but I'm not a massive phone user and it's er, pink. I'm pink phone girl. Anyway it's a really cute phone, and not to be incredibly blonde but it goes with my new bag.

YES!! Exams are over! My life is mine again!! I did ok too, Math not with standing. English went well as expected, Science and SOSE too. So now I have two days of orientation and then I have summer holidays.

Two entire months of nada. I'm going to be so spoilt, I'll be able to just read and write and watch crap. I probably will eventually have to get a job, but I forbear. I figure I'll be pretty bored soon. I celebrated by watching Pulp Fiction which ROCKS!! I'm such a closet Tarantino fan, but I find him hilarious really. I love the Mia/Vincent dance scene.

My favourite episode of my show has to Veronica Mars 2.22, Look Who's Stalking (Epic LoVe much?). But my favourite episode of any show has to be Pulp Friction of Gilmore Girls.

Sex and the City. I'd like to watch it all before the movie comes out, but so many seasons is so daunting.

13. Ever quit watching a show because it was so bad?
Many, many. Ghost Whisperer has to be the worst show ever, when ever I'm watching just a repeat or something when nothing else is on, I have to turn it off.

Buffy. *sob*.

Whatever is on hand, but I like to have something.

Wooaaahhh... alot. At least a couple of hours a day.

Heroes. The new season is awesome, I don't care what anybody says.

Drama.

Buffy.

I wish I'd never watched Lost. But at least now I can complain about it with everyone else, when they're describing it's pure PLOTLESSNESS.

Supernatural is actually genuinely scary sometimes.

Wow, it's really been a while since I made a post. So what's been up with me? Hmmm...

Was that really necessary you ask? To which I reply 'Hot guy on my LJ? Yes, yes it was.'

In my absence I watched season 5 and 6 of Gilmore Girls and fell head over heels with the Logan/Rory relationship. The really sad thing is I promised myself I wouldn't, 'You already have too many Logan's in your life' I told myself, and I held firm until You Jump, I Jump Jack when I caved. So Matt Czuchry is now my official new celebrity boyfriend. :)

1. Why do you dislike #11 so much?
Because Chris is just the selfish, boring, sleezy character you would expect Lorelai to date. He's just so cardboard and predictable.

Max discovers the cure for the virus, permanently squishes White and begins to work for transgenic rights. Logan gets over himself a little and has crazy sex with Max.

OOohh, HARD! Probably 2x22, Look Who's Stalking.

5. How long have you been following couple #6?
Since the begining of the fourth season. I don't convert very easily but Taylor and Ryan where so cute, and so completly great together. It was such a relief after the ubertragic!lovewank that was Ryan and Marissa.

6. What's the story with #8? What made you stop liking them/caring?
Marissa was so self absorbed, and self explosive in the end Taylor was just better for Ryan.

7. Which ship do you prefer - #2 or #4?
2! L/L is so new, and I loved bangel forever.

8. You have the power to make one ship non existent. Choose from #10 or #12.
12. I just want to hit Duncan sometimes. He's such a MEAT HEAD! And I don't know if anyone has noticed, but Veronica and Duncan have no chemistry.

9. What interests you about #14?
I like the connection they have, as the only people left who still care about Cassidy. Plus they have so much of a story that could have been worked with.

10. When did you stop liking #7?
Gah. I'm not sure exactly, probably sometime after they got together and Meredith was whiny and Derek was whiny and they just began to irritate the bejezuz out of me.

11. Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the show?
Well the show did go down hill in the last few episodes, when Burke and Christina annoyed the hell out of me, but I don't think it was to do with the couple persay.

It was pretty happy actually :). I haven't seen that episode yet though.

Wow, I know. I've been so productive. This is just a little ficlet that occurred to me while I was hiding outside from my family.

Midnight Show

Pairing: Logan/Veronica
Rating: PG-15
Summary: AU. Another day, another life, and he still recognizes her soul.
Word count: 726w
Spoilers: None

He’s studying the cracks of a bus stop, waiting for others, when she plops down beside him and lights a cigarette. Even in her uniform, designed especially to be harmless and unobtrusive, she catches the corner of his eye like a butterfly circling a dandelion. He turns a few degrees to get a better look at her profile and she catches his glance. Her mouth quirks a few millimetres and she reaches into her pocket for her carton of cigarettes, offering them to him with a graceful arch of her hand.
“Veronica”
He pulls a short cheap cigarette from the box, forgetting for the moment his own carton of longer, fancier fags and replies automatically.
“Logan Echolls.”
Her half smile raises another couple millimetres and then it falls away completely with a bow of her neck, which maybe or maybe not a nod of recognition. She turns away to study the melting palette of the LA skyline, long fingers tightening around the cigarette as she takes a drag. Her skin is too pale and her blonde hair to unkept to keep with the perfect Californian look genetics seemed to want to thrust upon her. Her hands are dirty with more then nicotine stains and her eyes are rimmed with dark circles. Still, she has something that draws him like a moth to fire, hardness in her eyes he recognizes in her own, strength under her fragile body that makes his heart beat with adrenaline, like she’s baiting him just sitting there. She’s a stranger, another nothing decorating dirty, filthy streets. She’s intoxicating in her foreignness. She’s intoxicating.
She leans back against the plastic chair and stubs out the butt of her cigarette out on the brittle walls of the bus stop, her hair falling back over her shoulders like a veil as she exhales. There is a start in the base of his gut as he watches her, and suddenly Logan is feeling calm, calmer then he’s ever felt, because he has a feeling that just sitting here next to this messy, out of reach girl, he’s completely untouchable.
The bus pulls up with a jerk and a whoosh of dust and hot, Californian air. There’s a hard feeling of Deja Vu lodged between his heart as she pulls herself up on long, tired legs and glances back at him, with a obligatory grimace of recognition.
“Goodbye Logan Echolls.”
Then with a whiff of cheap floral perfume and a flick of $14 discount haircut hair; she disappears as quickly as her ass landed on the set next to him. The bus pulls out and on the other side a flicker of colour lights up the drab, vandalized streets. Two of the perfect Californian girls that Logan compared Veronica against contrast against their grey exterior as they stumble arm in arm towards him.
“Hey doofus!”
Lilly Kane is waving and laughing as the blonde next to her giggles into her shoulder. Her brother strolls behind them, perfect Californian boy looking after his perfect Californian friends. Madison Sinclair gazes at him under sly lids, perfect face marred by her imperfect sneer,
“Hey, Logan. Who was the slutty random?”
Something dark inside him makes it hard to breathe, and when he looks into Madison’s empty blue eyes, and sees them greener and sharper, he suddenly feels less perfect. He suddenly feels not perfect at all.

She would have been a perfect one-night stand, and it shocks him later that it never occurred to him. Especially since something about her has lodged itself into the corners of his psyche. Maybe it was never meant to be more then a random encounter, maybe they where never meant to have a relationship longer then a cigarette and a goodbye. Still… Sometimes he dreams of worlds that might have once existed. A flash of a girl she could have been, a flash of a boy he wants to become, a flash of something beautiful, a flash of something terrible. Ok, so maybe it is in his head. Dwellings and romanticizing of a poor, white rich kid. Or maybe not. Whatever.
May it’s not a coincidence a week later, as he breaks up with Lilly for the umpteenth time, an image of a skinny blonde girl, smoking a cigarette in a bus shelter a thousand miles away, refuses to let go.

Gawd, I am so unbelievably bored. I brought season 4 GG on Saturday and I've already watched them all. Luke/Lorelai kissage was homigodgood, one of the best onscreen first kisses I've seen. Then... NAKED KIRK!! Hilarious. Can't wait for season five, but I won't be able to get that (fingers crossed) until Sunday.

I'm so psyched for new Heroes next week. This season, I think, is going to rock. Especially with a certain new addition starting with K and ending with Irstin. I also found out today that she's going to be the narrator for Gossip Girl. Man I can not wait for that to land in Australia. I was a massive guilty fan of the books, they where such perfect holiday reading, and now KB is joining the cast (kinda), YAY! But it won't come out onto free to air until next year and there is no way I can wait that long, so I may have to be ... creative.
